Conceived circa 1895 and cast in bronze in 1974 by Fonderie Georges Rudier, Paris, this work is number 3 from an edition of 8 plus 1 unnumbered example. This work will be included in the forthcoming Auguste Rodin catalogue critique de l'oeuvre sculpté currently being prepared by the Comité Auguste Rodin at Galerie Brame et Lorenceau under the direction of Jérôme Le Blay under the archive no. 2021-6287B.
