    By family tradition, this necklace was gifted by King George IV (1762-1830) to his mistress, Elizabeth Conyngham (née Denison), Marchioness Conyngham (1770-1861), wife of Henry Conygham (1766-1832), 1st Marquess of Conyngham.
    Thence by descent to the present owner.
