Designed as a grooved glass box, the lid composed of a hollow-backed garnet cabochon, inlaid with a butterfly motif pavé-set with rose-cut diamonds, highlighted with oval sapphires and cushion- and oval-cut rubies, measuring approximately 39 × 31 × 34 mm, with French maker’s mark for Hippolyte Wybo, French assay marks for gold.
