A rectangular gold purse, the interior fitted with red silk lining, the hinged cover set with a porcelain portrait depicting King Louis I of Bavaria, within a frame of rubies, the upper sections featuring two mythological figures, applied with enamel and accented with turquoise beads set against a relief ground of ribbons and foliage enriched with polychrome enamel, inside the cover an engraved gold plate depicting the coat of arms of the Kingdom of Bavaria (1835–1918), measuring approximately 112 x 70 x 18mm, 33mm for extended height, one turquoise bead deficient.
