F.P.Journe Unveils His First Classic Chronograph for the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation

François-Paul Journe and H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco unveiled a brand-new classic chronograph to distinguished guests at the Riva Aquarama Lounge of the Yacht Club de Monaco yesterday.

This unique timepiece has been created especially for the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, a non-profit that works to protect the environment and promote sustainable development. Its efforts focus on mitigating the effects of climate change, promoting renewable energy, preserving biodiversity, managing water resources, and combating desertification.

After making Rattrapante and FlyBack chronographs, as well as the Centigraphe, this is the first time François-Paul Journe has created a classic chronograph.

The dial features a central chronograph hand, a 30-minute counter at 3 o'clock and a tachymeter scale. The movement's small-seconds display is positioned at 9 o'clock, with the large date at 6 o'clock. The 42 mm two-tone case combines platinum with 18K 6N gold for the caseband, crown and pushers, and bears the engraving "Fondation Albert II - 2026" on the caseback.

The burgundy lacquered dial features numerals inspired by oracle bones, the earliest form of Chinese writing, a tachymeter scale in whitened silver, and grey sapphire counters with titanium surround. The large date aperture is in sandblasted white gold, while the steel hands are matt rhodium-plated, ivory-coloured and red lacquered.

Phillips on the Rostrum

This unique F.P.Journe classic chronograph is estimated to reach in excess of CHF 1,000,000 and will be auctioned in partnership with Phillips on 25 November 2026, during the "Voyage Extraordinaire" gala dinner at Raffles Sentosa Singapore. The event will mark the 20th anniversary of the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation.

This is the second time that Phillips has been selected by F.P.Journe and the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation as their official auction partner. In 2024, the auction house achieved US$2.98 million for a one-of-a-kind F.P.Journe Chronomètre à Résonance, setting a strong precedent for this latest charitable collaboration.

“It is a great honour for Phillips to once again support the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation and F.P.Journe through the sale of this remarkable unique timepiece, with all the proceeds directly benefiting the Foundation’s vital environmental work,” said Thomas Perazzi, Phillips’ Deputy Chairman Watches and Head of Watches, Asia, who will take the rostrum for the sale during the gala evening.
