Phillips and Poly will once again partner for the 20th Century & Contemporary Art & Design sales in Hong Kong this fall after a record season that saw two 100% sold, “white glove” sales totaling HK$702 million (US$90.4 million).
Early highlights include a rare and precious work by Chinese-French painter Sanyu from the 1930s; a symbolic modern Chinese landscape by Wu Guanzhong from the 1990s; a striking example from Cinga Samson’s Ivory series, marking the South African artist’s auction debut in Asia; and a museum-quality sculptural piece executed by Yayoi Kusama in 1998.
