Fancy Shape Glitter Necklace.132 oval, cushion, pear, marquise and ASHOKA® cut diamonds, totaling approximately 103 carats, set in platinum.

In the last of the current series of jewels talks, Vivienne Becker meets two guests, Saul and Eve Goldberg, son and daughter of the legendary New York diamantaire, William Goldberg, the "father" of NY’s diamond district, so famous that he has a street named after him. Today, Saul and Eve, together with other family members, brother-in-law, Barry Berg and Saul’s son Benjamin, manage the company founded by their father with the same passion and dedication to the divine diamond.

Bill Goldberg was a larger than life character, and as Saul explains, he was a leader of the industry, leadership that Saul believes is lacking today in the diamond world. He was renowned for fashioning some of the world’s most spectacular diamonds, including the Premier Rose, and today the company continues to cut and polish diamonds, of superb quality, in their factories in New York and around the world, while also creating contemporary diamond jewelry, designed under Eve Goldberg’s creative direction.

In this entertaining and informal but informative interview, Saul and Eve reminisce about their father, what they learned from him, discussing his legacy, telling the story behind the Ashoka cut, pioneered by and exclusive to William Goldberg. While Eve talks about diamond jewelry design and how women want to wear their diamonds today, Saul shares his views on the global demand for fine diamonds, as the world begins to emerge from the pandemic into the light.
