From 12–15 May 2026, Phillips’ Asia headquarters in Hong Kong’s West Kowloon Cultural District will showcase highlights from this year’s Sovereign Asian Art Prize. This year’s Prize features 30 shortlisted artists from 12 countries and territories across the Asia-Pacific region, showcasing a rich diversity of practices and perspectives.
Highlights include works by Michele Chu, ANUnaran Jargalsaikhan, and Zhang Yanzi, represented by leading Hong Kong galleries PHD Group, 10 Chancery Lane, and Ora-Ora Gallery, respectively, alongside prominent regional artists such as Citra Sasmita, represented by Yeo Workshop (Singapore), and Sangita Maity, represented by Shrine Empire Art Gallery (India). India leads the shortlist with six artists, followed closely by Australia and Mainland China.
All shortlisted works will be offered for sale through either a timed silent auction or a live auction, with proceeds shared equally between the artists and the Sovereign Art Foundation’s charitable programmes. Bidding for the Silent Auction lots is available here and will close at 10pm Hong Kong time on 15 May 2026. On the same evening, 10 selected lots will be presented in a live auction conducted by Phillips auctioneer Jonathan Crockett at a charity gala dinner held at Agate, M+ Museum.
The final artworks were selected from a pool of over 250 entries by 145 artists. These artists were nominated by 46 independent professionals, alongside 16 professional galleries who were invited to participate for the first time via an internal nominating committee.
The judges will view the finalists’ works in Hong Kong and select one artist to receive the Grand Prize of US$30,000, as well as another to be awarded the Vogue Hong Kong Women’s Art Prize of US$5,000. A Public Vote Prize of US$1,000 will be presented to the artist whose work receives the most votes from the public. Visitors are invited to cast their votes for their favourite artist at the exhibition or online. The winning artists will be announced via the Sovereign Art Foundation’s digital channels on 19 May 2026.
