Apart from sheer rarity, something unquestionably special happens when the soft delicacy of pink meets the hardness of diamond. A boldly understated piece, the light hits the cut-cornered rectangular modified brilliant stone with a glimmer that seems to wink back at the wearer with every turn.
A legend from Muzo

Emerald and Diamond Ring, step-cut emerald weighing 13.36 carats. Estimate: $300,000–500,000. The New York Jewels Auction.
Emeralds from Colombia’s Muzo mine are among the most sought-after. Their vibrant, deep green color and the region’s rich history have propelled Muzo emeralds to legendary status, and this 13.36 carat step-cut stone shows us just why. The shield- and pear-shaped diamonds combine with brilliant-cut diamond accents to frame this miraculous stone like a painting. This exquisite framing draws our eyes toward the showstopping emerald, where we find depths that seem to never end. For a final surprise, we discover this stone has no clarity enhancement — an exceedingly rare occurrence for emeralds and certified by accompanying reports from SSEF, Gübelin, AGL, and an origin and traceability certificate from the Muzo mine itself.
Bulgari salutes a Ceylon Sapphire

Bulgari, Sapphire and Diamond Ring, ‘Trombino’, oval sapphire weighing 14.03 carats. Estimate: $110,000–160,000. The New York Jewels Auction.
For experienced gem lovers, an unheated Ceylon Sapphire raises the pulse. Add a name like Bulgari and a design like the “Trombino” and we find ourselves breathless. For one, this ring’s unheated 14.03 carat oval Sapphire is particularly notable, certified as the coveted “Royal Blue” color by GRS and accompanied by an additional certificate by the SSEF institute. The stone also embodies the symbolic history of Bulgari’s “Trombino” design, which was first developed in 1932 by Giorgio Bulgari as an engagement ring for his future wife, Leonilde Gulienetti. The ring perfectly expresses the central design tenet of the “Trombino” — to put forth the stone as the star of the show. Like a coloratura soprano supported by a bed of strings, this sapphire stands proud, surrounded by baguette and brilliant-cut diamonds. Maestro, cue the “little trumpets.” This ring deserves a fanfare.
An Emerald moment

Emerald and Diamond Ring, step-cut emerald weighing 10.60 carats. Estimate: $90,000–120,000. The New York Jewels Auction.
Emeralds are simply timeless. From the Babylonian era to the recent pages of fashion magazines, they’ve embodied renewal, protection, love, and prosperity. Beyond that history, they’re truly having a moment right now. Looking at 2024 and 2025 alone, they’ve adorned Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Cardi B, Demi Moore, and Zendaya at the Met Gala and have appeared in recent High Jewelry collections from Cartier, Bulgari, Van Cleef & Arpels, Harry Winston, and Chopard.
Considering this, there’s perhaps no better time for a closer look at this magnificent 10.60 carat step-cut Colombian emerald. Its masterfully cut facets reveal further layers of the stone’s depths from every angle — like a hall of mirrors, everywhere you look there’s just more emerald. With only a minor amount of oil (we’ll call it tending jardin) and beautifully set between tapered baguette diamond shoulders, this is a ring for the ages.
On the rocks, please

Diamond Ring, step-cut diamond weighing 6.03 carats. Estimate: $90,000–150,000. The New York Jewels Auction.
Emerald’s heat gives way to the icy allure of this magnificent emerald-cut diamond ring. It seems to float above the finger — its 6.03 carats boasting a subtle, sophisticated elegance that enhances the most vivacious facets of its wearer’s personality. And under the loupe, the stone’s remarkable VVS1 clarity comes into focus, and its F color shimmers with all the colorless purity one could need. Ultimately, it’s simply a miraculous ring that leaves our faces frozen mid-smile.
Canary yellow in the limelight

Fancy Vivid Yellow Diamond Ring, oval fancy vivid yellow diamond weighing 4.43 carats. Estimate: $75,000–125,000. The New York Jewels Auction.
Optimism, energy, intellect, and hope — all attributes that promise to carry us forward, and all connotations of the color yellow. It comes as no surprise, then, that this 4.43 carat yellow diamond fills us with such peace. The oval and brilliant cut diamonds that surround the stone appear as if we’ve caught them mid-motion, seeming to open up like a blooming flower to reveal the magnificent stone: certified by the GIA to be of natural color, with even distribution and graded Fancy Vivid Yellow — the most sought-after color grade for yellow diamonds.
Unheated fire

Ruby and Diamond Ring, oval ruby weighing 3.91 carats. Estimate: $80,000–120,000. The New York Jewels Auction.
Two words kindle a unique passion in gem lovers the world over: “Pigeon’s Blood.” Denoting a miraculous and rare color of Burmese rubies (themselves the most sought-after ruby origin), “Pigeon’s Blood” rubies are loved for their intense, vivid, and nuanced velvety red color. These stones drip with what makes us love rubies: the power, passion, vitality, and desire they manifest. This 3.91 carat oval ruby is certified by GRS to be of “Pigeon’s Blood” color and of Burmese origin with no indications of heating, also certified by the esteemed SSEF institute. But beyond this obvious appeal, it is the setting — surrounded by brilliant-cut diamonds and mounted in platinum and 18k yellow gold — that ignites our fervor.
A Sapphire wrapped in a cloud

Sapphire and Diamond Ring, oval sapphire weighing 8.03 carats. Estimate: $70,000–90,000. The New York Jewels Auction.
This 8.03 carat “Royal Blue” unheated Ceylon sapphire is, of course, magnificent and rare. But here, it’s also the design of the ring that stands out. The sapphire wears the marquise-shaped diamonds like an elaborate scarf, with the diamond surround nearly the same width as the sapphire. A striking statement piece, the ring is no less elegant — its intriguing layered construction and tactile texture catch the eye and hold it.
Chaumet: A signature worth its weight in Emeralds

Chaumet, Emerald and Diamond Bracelet. Estimate: $50,000–70,000. The New York Jewels Auction.
As the first jeweler on Place Vendôme and the official jeweler to Empress Joséphine, Maison Chaumet needs no introduction. But when such an extraordinary jeweler works with such incredible stones, all eyes take notice. On this bracelet, seven rectangular Colombian emeralds totaling 10.0–11.0 carats are arranged in a perfect graduation. An array of brilliant-cut diamonds accentuates the openwork design, reminiscent of the Maison’s famed Tiaras. Signed Chaumet.
