Phillips' Design department offers exceptional examples of 20th and 21st century design including both functional furniture and conceptual works. Our expertise includes European Modernism and Art Deco, French, Italian and Nordic Design, International and American Aesthetic Movement and Arts and Crafts, American Modernism and Studio Craft, contemporary design, architecture, glass and ceramics.

Phillips conducts seasonal Design sales in New York, London and Hong Kong. Expertly presented and thoughtfully curated, our auctions bring together sought-after works by masters such as Carlo Mollino, Gio Ponti, Carlo Scarpa, Jean-Michel Frank, Charlotte Perriand, Finn Juhl and Shiro Kuramata.

We have achieved world record prices at auction for Lucie Rie, Jean Royère, Isamu Noguchi, Poul Henningsen and Marcel Coard as well as celebrated contemporary designers Marc Newson and Joris Laarman.

Our team seamlessly works together to expand our global, and continually growing, client base. In 2016, we welcomed new buyers from around the world, including North and South America, Europe, Asia, Russia and the Middle East.
