Launched in 2009 until 2010, the IWC ref. 5001 Laureus “Sports for Good Foundation” limited edition was introduced as a series of 1000 pieces. Established in 1999 by automotive giant Daimler, the foundation aims to address social challenges through sports-related community development initiatives. With ambassadors all over the world including likes of Jack Nicklaus and Edwin Moses, the foundation holds an annual award ceremony to celebrate distinguished members who have contributed to the cause. The relationship between Laureus and IWC started in 2005 with 10 commemorative pieces launched.
The present example numbered 373/100 belongs to the 4th limited edition series in collaboration with the foundation and is presented in excellent overall condition and complete with the full set of accessories.
