- A luminary of modern watchmaking, Daniel Roth began his career at Audemars Piguet in the late 1960s. His true legacy, however, was forged in 1973 when he joined Breguet—then a nearly dormant house producing only a handful of watches. Roth revived its spirit by reinterpreting Abraham-Louis Breguet’s iconic pocket watch designs for the wrist, creating some of the earliest contemporary perpetual calendars and tourbillons. He left in 1987 to establish his own eponymous brand, carrying forward a distinct vision of technical artistry.
- The present Daniel Roth Retrograde Tourbillon exemplifies this legacy—a timepiece both mechanically sophisticated and visually arresting. Powered by the Daniel Roth cal. DR730, it was, at its launch, the smallest tourbillon ever crafted by the brand. The dial is masterfully finished to accentuate the pronounced depth of the tourbillon aperture, inviting the wearer to admire Roth’s meticulous craftsmanship in full dimension. The retrograde date further adds to the appeal of the watch.
- Encased in his signature elliptical form and housing a movement of unmatched beauty, this watch is more than an instrument of time—it is a definitive Daniel Roth, worthy of a place in the most discerning collection.
