- A luminary of modern watchmaking, Daniel Roth began his career at Audemars Piguet in the late 1960s. His true legacy, however, was forged in 1973 when he joined Breguet—then a nearly dormant house producing only a handful of watches. Roth revived its spirit by reinterpreting Abraham-Louis Breguet’s iconic pocket watch designs for the wrist, creating some of the earliest contemporary perpetual calendars and tourbillons. He left in 1987 to establish his own eponymous brand, carrying forward a distinct vision of technical artistry.
