Graceful and majestic, the Panthère has long been the emblematic muse for Cartier since 1914. Embracing power, freedom and essence of femininity, it made its first appearance as a first commissioned “Lady With a Panther” illustration for a jewellery exhibition invitation by George Barbier. From abstract to figurative representation, Louis Cartier appointed Jeanne Toussaint, first woman to lead the creative department for the maison, from there onwards, she created a legacy of Panthère de Cartier that lasted decades and still going strong now.

Excelled with creativity and innovation, Cartier stunned the world of watchmaking in 2018 with the Révélation d’une Panthère watch. As magical as the famous mystery clock, the model features a spectacular design that forms the face of a panther which appears and disappears with the movements of the wrist. First outlined by a multitude of mobile tiny gold balls and in 2019, Cartier replaced the gold balls with 650 brilliant-cut diamonds like the present timepiece.

Cartier patented two applications for this creation: one for the nature of the fluid that regulates the speed at which the gold balls and diamonds move, the other for the completely invisible glass structure. Sized at 37mm and cased in white gold with the signature Cartier Red dial, the present unworn, “new-old-stock” gem is simply next-level compared to the 2018 release.
