- Since the 1950s, Breitling has been producing reliable chronograph watches that are highly praised by the aviation industry. A combination of “navigation” and “timer”, it is straightforward that the Navitimer series of watches by the manufacturer are not only timekeeping pieces, instead, they are watches that bear functionalities in assisting calculations in aviation. At times when miniature computers were not available, the Navitimer watches were useful in many ways. The complex appearance of dial has made it an icon of the legendary pilot’s watch.
- The present watch is a limited edition Navitimer in 18K pink gold, numbered 171 out of 500 units produced.
- This watch shows great resemblance to the reference 7806, the successor to the iconic reference 806. It features a serrated slide rule bezel for easily manipulation. Similar to the vintage models, it has numerous functions, including the calculation of ground speed, miles per minute, gasoline consumption, rate and distance of descent, nautical and statute mile conversion. It is worth noting that the caseback has an extra function of Celsius and Fahrenheit conversion. The subdials are in contrasting white colour, and there is a date window at the 4:30 position, showing similarities to the reference 7806.

Today, all models are outfitted with certified chronometer movements, used for accurate timing.
