  • Eduardo Terrazas came to prominence as a young architect in 1968 for his design of the Olympic Games logo in Mexico City. The logo was inspired by the folk art and handicraft techniques produced by the Huichol people, and set a precedent for the geometric forms that have since defined the artist’s visual language.

In the 1970-80s, Terrazas developed the concept of Possibilities of a Structure, experimenting with the formal relationships of geometric elements through drawings. At that time, the artist mostly explored these relationships in drawings made in marker pen and has more recently realised these in the celebrated Terrazas structures of wool yarn and Campeche wax on panel. The dating of the present work is explained by its original conception as a drawing in 1974 and final realisation in 2015.
