The Breitling Chronomat was originally launched in 1984 and was designed in collaboration with Frecce Tricolori with a distinct design of the bezel featuring four rider tabs around the bezel. With its production seized in 2004, the Chronomat was one of the longest produced models.
The present Breitling Chronomat ref. J 13352 in a beautiful 38mm 18K white gold is a rare numbered edition example of the famed model. Encased in a heavy white gold case paired along with a bracelet, the dial is composed of mother of pearl, giving the present edition a distinct appeal paired harmoniously with its light khaki coloured registers. Presented in attractive overall condition, the present example numbered 077 is certainly an attractive example of the Chronomat from the early 2000’s.
The firm started by Leon Breitling in 1884 is best known for its technical aviation and oceanic watches. Today, all models are outfitted with certified chronometer movements, used for accurate timing. Early aviation pioneers in specialized chronograph timepieces, Breitling introduced the circular slide rule to watches in the 1940s for use by pilots. The firm’s most iconic chronograph, the Navitimer, was introduced in 1954 and continues to be manufactured today. Another key model is the Duograph, a split-seconds chronograph that was Breitling's most prestigious wristwatch during the 1940s through '60s. Their watches are built on their reputation for precision and sturdiness.
