-Established in 1995 by watchmaker Felix Baumgartner and industrial designer Martin Frei, Urwerk's timepieces boast a futuristic aesthetic, drawing inspiration from a fascination with space travel and science fiction. Their first timepieces, the UR 101 and 102, were launched in 1997 and showcased a unique wandering hour time display.
- Introduced in 2017, the UR-105 CT seamlessly blends Urwerk's exceptional design with innovative watchmaking expertise, creating a timepiece that resonates with both watch enthusiasts and dedicated fans of the brand. When wearing the present UR-105CT, time is indicated through a wandering hour hand and rotating satellites that emerge through a lower partition of the glass on the watch. Based on an aluminium carrousel bearing four satellites with the three revolving numerals for the hours, which has now been open-worked, making it lighter and more robust construction. The accurate hour aligns with a luminescent minute track, facilitating instant and precise time reading.
- A hood/hatch slide mechanism allows the top of the case to open, unveiling the entire movement. The watch's "dark" appearance, courtesy of the sleek black PVD-coated armor, is punctuated by vivid yellow accents on the minute track and numerals, enhancing overall legibility.
- Preserved in excellent overall condition with hardly any visible signs of wear, the present Urwerk UR-105 CT black is further accompanied by its original international guarantee.

Urwerk
Swiss | 1997The Swiss firm's name "Urwerk" is a play on the German word meaning clockwork. "Ur" is an ancient Sumerian city in which the populace used sundials for timekeeping, while "werk" is German for creation. The company started by Felix Baumgartner and Martin Frei is known for their innovative avant-garde designs inspired by space travel. With their own take on time indication, like many of their contemporaries, their futuristic timepieces are rooted in high-end traditional watchmaking. Their signature floating method of time indication using rotating satellites traces back to a watch made in 1656. Producing only 150 watches per year, they have impressed connoisseurs with their innovativeness and cutting-edge technical prowess.
