The present Tudor Prince Submariner with a blue “snowflake” configuration is a superb example, in overall excellent condition with strong case proportions. Bearing a 814’XXX serial from circa 1974 also features a “confetti” dial indicating the presence of green and blue specs upon close inspection and is inscribed with the correct T SWISS T insignia. Aged with beautiful patina, the present timepiece was sold in Japan during 1977 and is furthermore accompanied by its original Japanese Tudor guarantee stamped Kikuchi Enterprise Yokohama who carried Rolex and Tudors back in the days, hang tag and presentation box.

Swiss | 1926Almost twenty years after Rolex was founded, Hans Wilsdorf established Tudor with the intention of making more affordable watches without compromising the quality for which Rolex was renowned. Tudor was named after the British Dynasty that ruled England from 1485 to 1603, and their symbol came from the "War of Roses." After interchanging Rose and Shield symbols for a number of years, the firm replaced the Rose with the Shield logo from the 1960s until today.
