Debuted in 1987, the Rolex Submariner ref. 16610 marked the beginning of the modern era for the Submariner family. It replaced the short-lived ref. 16800 and features a glossy black dial with white gold surrounds for the luminous indexes, along with the new caliber 3135, known for its superior stability and longer power reserve, and a depth rating of up to 1,000 feet. The reference enjoyed a long production run of 23 years before being discontinued in 2010 to make way for the updated ref. 116610.
The present watch from circa 1990 is particularly attractive not only because the luminous material on the dial has developed a desirable cream and buttery hue that collectors appreciate, but also due to the inscription above “SUBMARINER”, indicating that it was retailed by Tiffany & Co.. Fresh to the market and presented in excellent overall condition, this timepiece boasts a well-preserved case with nicely proportioned bevels. It comes with its original guarantee, which is also stamped by Tiffany & Co.

Swiss | 1905Founded in 1905 England by Hans Wilsdorf and Alfred Davis as Wilsdorf & Davis, it soon became known as the Rolex Watch Company in 1915, moving its headquarters to Geneva in 1919.
