In production for more than 20 years, from 1959 to 1980, the Rolex GMT-Master reference 1675 was the highly successful and more robust replacement for the first GMT-Master model reference 6542.
Rolex are known for their evolution with nuances on their dials throughout its history, while collectors are familiar with the Long E Mark I dial of the matte dial reference 1675, scholarship later discovered an earlier batch ranging from 1’38X’XXX to 1’6XX’XXX serial that predates the MK 1. Distinguished by identical cornets and fonts to the Type C gilt era dials with the small tipped GMT hand, they are known as the Mark 0 dials. Matte black and contrasted with its iconic “Pepsi” bezel, the painted luminous plots have a unique quality that utilized different luminescent material resulting a strong green glow under UV light.
Highly collectable and preserved in excellent condition with a beautiful dial and, in our opinion, unpolished case, the present 1675 is a rare opportunity to obtain an early and coveted reference.

Swiss | 1905Founded in 1905 England by Hans Wilsdorf and Alfred Davis as Wilsdorf & Davis, it soon became known as the Rolex Watch Company in 1915, moving its headquarters to Geneva in 1919.
