Sent to the Geneva Observatory for testing, the present watch was awarded a grade “A” certificate. The movement was made in 1896 and is signed twice with the same movement number in keeping with tradition for all of Patek Philippe’s Observatory tested watches. The movement is further signed Extra Quality and engraved with the original buyers name J.H Leyson of Butte, Montana. According to the Extract from the Archives the case was replaced to the present one in 1960 bearing the movement no. 625’987 during a servicing. The dial and hands were also upgraded. Thanks to its timeless design, massive diameter, wonderfully preserved condition and history, the present watch matches any connoisseurs expectations looking to acquire an excellent observatory time keeper.
