完整圖錄內容
Collectors admire ref. 3940 not only for its technical merit but also for its historical significance, as it was the personal choice of Philippe Stern, former president of Patek Philippe. The model was produced in three series across four precious metals: 18K yellow, pink, and white gold, as well as platinum. Today, it remains a grail piece for many enthusiasts, praised for its understated sophistication and enduring value.
The present fresh-to-the-market, yellow gold example dates to 1989 and is offered in excellent overall condition. It is also worth to note that it is a later second-series example, which can be distinguished by the cross divider on the leap year indicator and the Swiss sigma printed below the outer minute track. It is accompanied by its original accessories and further supported by an Extract from the Archives, confirming its authenticity and provenance.
