Whether it is a World Time or a dual-time wristwatch, Patek Philippe has always excelled in making timepieces that tick all the boxes for seasoned highflyers. The ref. 5134G is a proud descendant of the iconic ref. 2597, a watch launched in 1958 and was ultimately inspired by Louis Cottier’s ingenious design.

The contemporary Calatrava Travel Time ref. 5134 enjoyed a successful production run from 2001 to 2008, marking a notable chapter in Patek Philippe’s legacy of elegant functionality. On its two-tone silvered dial, the present ref. 5134 displays home time via a skeletonised hand, complemented by a 24-hour indicator positioned at 12 o’clock. The vertical alignment of these elements is visually harmonious, enhancing both legibility and aesthetic appeal. Fusing form with function, the pushers located at 8 and 10 o’clock on the caseband enable effortless adjustment of the local time, which allows the wearer to move forwards or backwards with a simple click. This intuitive mechanism underscores Patek Philippe’s dedication to user-friendly complications. Notably, the ref. 5134 is among the few Patek Philippe models to feature a crown guard, which balances the pushers on the opposite side and adds a subtle touch of sportiness to its otherwise classic silhouette.

Presented in excellent overall condition and delivered with a Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives, this fresh-to-the market 18K white gold Calatrava Travel Time offers a fantastic opportunity for collectors to own such a rare and elegant timepiece.

Patek Philippe

Since its founding in 1839, this famous Geneva-based firm has been surprising its clientele with superbly crafted timepieces fitted with watchmaking's most prestigious complications. Traditional and conservative designs are found across Patek Philippe's watches made throughout their history — the utmost in understated elegance.Well-known for the Graves Supercomplication — a highly complicated pocket watch that was the world’s most complicated watch for 50 years — this family-owned brand has earned a reputation of excellence around the world. Patek's complicated vintage watches hold the highest number of world records for results achieved at auction compared with any other brand. For collectors, key models include the reference 1518, the world's first serially produced perpetual calendar chronograph, and its successor, the reference 2499. Other famous models include perpetual calendars such as the ref. 1526, ref. 3448 and 3450, chronographs such as the reference 130, 530 and 1463, as well as reference 1436 and 1563 split seconds chronographs. Patek is also well-known for their classically styled, time-only "Calatrava" dress watches, and the "Nautilus," an iconic luxury sports watch first introduced in 1976 as the reference 3700 that is still in production today.
