- The result of the collaboration between Louis Erard and one of the most creative modern independent watchmakers: Konstantin Chaykin, the Time Eater consists of a limited edition of 178 pieces in a 42mm case with green rehaut like the present example and 178 pieces in a 39mm case with purple rehaut.
- The Time Eater is inspired by the Wristmons and more particularly of Konstantin Chaykin’s first Joker watch – whose eyes were made up of white discs marked with a dot for time indication. Using the typical Erard régulateur layout, Chayking made a watch dial resembling a cyclop, inspired by the one-eyed Likho character from Slavic fairy tales.
- The hours are indicated via a rotating disc resembling an eye while the seconds at six are represented via a disc with pointed teeth, turning like the devouring mouth of an ogre. The minutes are indicated via a central hand made to look like the monster's hand.
-In virtually unworn condition and with its full set of accessories, the present Time Eater is part of a limited edition of 178 pieces that was sold out minutes after its official presentation.
