The Grande Seconde is perhaps one of the most iconic timepieces by Jaquet Droz featuring a “large” small seconds and a main dial above it with various natural materials used as the background of the dial. Inspired by a pocket watch from the late 18th century created by the original founder Pierre Jaquet-Droz himself, the Grande Seconde was initially launched in 2002 before its acquisition by the Swatch Group in 2009.
The present Grande Seconde encased in 18K pink gold belongs to a limited edition series of 8 pieces. Fitted with an attractive ebony wood dial, the marriage between the dial and the case is elegant and provides a subdued contrast.
