With a clear focus on technology and development, the Swiss watch manufacturer IWC Schaffhausen has been producing timepieces of lasting value since 1868.
With this unique reference of the Ingenieur, “Tribute to Nico Rosberg” was made to honor the world champion and legendary Formula 1 driver Nico Rosberg. Mr. Rosberg would later to go on to win yet another Formula 1 world champion in 2016.
By creating this one-off Ingenieur in boron carbide, a material that is typically used for bulletproof vest and tank armor- it’s the world’s first use of it in the watchmaking industry. IWC Schaffhausen sets another milestone in watchmaking history: almost as hard as a diamond and as light as aluminum, boron carbide is an innovative material that unites incredible, contrasting qualities to deliver unique performance.
