Launched at Watches & Wonders 2022, the reference 3811-1200—the Pioneer Cylindrical Tourbillon Skeleton—represents a milestone achievement: the first integration of a cylindrical hairspring and one-minute flying tourbillon within the Pioneer’s architecture. This timepiece exemplifies Moser’s philosophy of blending mechanical ingenuity with everyday wearability, creating a kinetic sculpture that is as intellectually compelling as it is visually arresting.
The case of the 3811-1200 embodies the Pioneer collection’s hallmark blend of sporty durability and classical restraint. Crafted from stainless steel, it measures 42.8 mm in diameter. Central to the Pioneer Cylindrical Tourbillon allure is its fully skeletonized dial and the in-house Caliber HMC- 811 automatic movement. The architecture features anthracite-finished bridges and a dark main plate, contrasted by a skeletonized 18-carat gold oscillating rotor. Time is displayed on an eccentric, domed sub-dial at 12 o’clock, rendered in Moser’s signature Funky Blue fumé gradient with a sunburst pattern and applied Globolight® hour markers—ceramic inserts infused with lume for exceptional legibility in all lighting conditions. The hands are also treated with Globolight®,maintain clarity despite the openworked layout.
The one-minute flying tourbillon takes center stage, its hand-beveled bridge allows an unobstructed view of the entire cylindrical hairspring beneath. This hairspring, produced entirely in-house with two Breguet terminal curves, ensures a constant oscillation period regardless of amplitude, delivering true chronometric performance. Offered by the original owner, the present examples is also equipped with a selection of straps and transitions seamlessly from formal settings to active pursuits.
