Good To Know:
- Delivered with its certificate of authenticity and delivery to Kuwait
- 39mm tantalum case
- Iconic Blue dial that commands long waitlist
With its tantalum case showcasing a distinctive grey-blue hue and its vibrant chrome blue dial, the F.P. Journe Chronomètre Bleu has become one of the most iconic and sought-after timepieces in contemporary watchmaking. Combining innovative materials with exceptional chronometric performance, it represents a bold yet refined approach to precision. The 39mm case, crafted from tantalum—a rare and notoriously difficult metal to work with—adds to its allure. Known for its dark grey color with subtle blue overtones, tantalum is prized for its resistance to wear and corrosion, though its extreme hardness makes it a rarity in watchmaking.
Introduced in 2009 as an entry-level model within François-Paul Journe’s otherwise highly complicated collection, the Chronomètre Bleu defied convention with its simplicity and elegance. The chrome blue dial, paired with cream-colored hands and bold Arabic numerals, creates a striking contrast against the tantalum case, blending modern aesthetics with timeless sophistication. Powered by the in-house caliber 1304, crafted in pink gold and finished to the highest standards, the Chronomètre Bleu is a testament to Journe’s dedication to both artistry and performance. The present example is delivered to Kuwait in 2011 and offers a rare opportunity to own this celebrated watch, a true masterpiece of independent watchmaking.

F.P. Journe
Swiss | 1999Founded by watchmaker François-Paul Journe in 1999, the F.P. Journe brand is relatively young, but already is as highly regarded by collectors as many distinguished manufacturers with centuries-old heritage. In the minds of the world's savviest collectors, Journe is producing some of the finest wristwatches the market has ever seen. Mastering his craft from restoring historical timepieces, he was the first to create a wristwatch incorporating two escapements that benefit from the phenomenon of resonance — the Chronomètre à Résonance.
Key models include the Résonance, tourbillon wristwatches incorporating a remontoir and the limited edition Vagabondage series. Especially sought-after are his earliest "souscription" watches, made in 1999.
