Breguet Reference 5707 E “Reveil du Tsar” can be considered a fusion of practical, modern watchmaking with the most classic and beloved style traits from the past.

The case and dial design are eminently “old school” Breguet, following all the canons of the brand: the ribbed “coin edge” band is present, the typical lugs with screwed bars, the superbly well-executed two-tiered “Grand Feu” enamel dial with Breguet numerals and exotic red five-minutes division… The timepiece is truly a compendium of Breguet’s expertise in terms of aesthetics and decorative techniques.

On the other hand, the automatic movement is designed with utmost practicality in mind. It is in fact a “completely” automatic alarm calibre: the rotor not only winds up the mainspring, but also the spring powering the alarm. The alarm itself finds a myriad application in the day-to-day life: while it is slightly too subdued to be used as a wake-up instrument, it is invaluable, for example, in case one has to remember to make a phone call at a specific time, or if one has to leave the premises at a specific time to make it to an appointment and so on. In order to eliminate the risk of the alarm spring being unwound - and thus the alarm not sounding - an alarm power reserve is present on the dial.
Furthermore, the simple calendar indication of the date is probably the most used horological complication on earth, and the dual time proves of enormous utility to either jet-setters or international businessmen.

Offered in very attractive condition and complete of its original accessories, the present piece is the ideal choice for the modern enthusiast of classical watchmaking.

Breguet

Swiss | 1775
Established in 1775 by Abraham Louis Breguet, widely considered the greatest watchmaker of all time, the storied brand continues to thrive in the modern era, creating exceptional high-end watches as the Swatch Group's premier prestige brand. Some of the most important and lasting inventions in watchmaking are attributed to Abraham Louis Breguet, including the tourbillon, shock resistance and the use of hammers and gongs employed in nearly all minute repeating watches made since.

Eighteenth and nineteenth century Breguet pocketwatches are especially sought-after by collectors, and many of them were made for the elite of European society, including Napoléon and Marie Antoinette. Key wristwatches from the twentieth century include oversized dress watches, two-register chronographs, triple calendars and Type XX aviator's chronographs made for the French military and civilians.
