Adam Fuss’s My Ghost series meditates on grief, spirituality, and remembrance. According to Fuss, the visual language of the project articulates ‘the emotional presence of a human that is now absent.’ To create the image offered here, Fuss utilized the historical camera-less technique of the photogram. In the darkroom, smoke was blown over a sheet of photographic paper which was then exposed by a flash of light. The resulting image freezes the plume in stasis, creating a unique image of an evanescent moment.
