The incorporation of lighting elements into Johanna Grawunder’s furniture designs testifies to the ongoing debate and recently blurred lines between art and design.  A former partner of Ettore Sottsass, Grawunder trained as an architect and an artist, and currently produces work that frequently blends the functional with the decorative to produce a design that is at once provocative and sustainable.  Grawunder’s designs tend to include energy-efficient lighting and low-cost materials, lending themselves to be, as she says, ‘ironic and positive.’

Each example within the edition is unique due to the colour combination of upholstery and lighting.
