    Swiss • 1980

Hublot was founded by Carlo Crocco in 1980 and named after the French word for "porthole," which resembles their iconic bezel design. Hublot's first watch followed three years of research and was the first wristwatch to be fitted with a natural rubber strap. The brand's most recognizable watch today is the 'Big Bang', which was first launched in 2005 upon the arrival of CEO and shareholder Jean-Claude Biver. Other noteworthy models are the 'Classic Fusion' and 'King Power'.

Hublot was appointed the "Official Watchmaker" by the Formula 1TM umbrella organisation in March 2010. The F1 King Power, a Zirconium 48mm Chronograph features a bezel inspired by the brake disc of the famous cars and is accompanied with a two layer strap, featuring rubber on the inside and Nomex, a material featured in the driver's overalls, on the outside. The present watch, number 000/500 is both a piece of Hublot and F1 history. The very prototype that was unveiled in Shanghai in 2010 and featured in many press and marketing images it was later sold in a charity auction in Singapore. Fresh to the market after a decade in a private collection it is accompanied by its International Gurantee, Product Card, Polishing Cloth and inner and outer box.
