  • Catalogue Essay

Munich-born and based Konstantin Grcic creates logical and innovative designs which take advantage of materials and study. Grcic studied the contours of the seated body and designed his chairs with those measurements in mind, making the chairs more comfortable to sit in than may seem at first glance. His research and application of that research is what sets him apart from other industrial, Minimalist designers today. His designs are strict, rational and functional while also taking human need for comfort and humor into consideration. The prototype "Pallas" table alters from the final production version in it's larger size and pierced hole to the top.
