Fabricus and Kastholm's work is inspired by the lines and practical materials of the functionalist pioneers of the 1920s as well as the inventive Scandinavian language of form. Both designers began their careers as craftsmen; Fabricus as an interior designer and Kastholm as a gold and silversmith. Later they would team up and establish their Copenhagen design office and subsequently work with other successful designers such as Niels Vodder and Finn Juhl.
