  • Catalogue Essay

Between 1898 and 1908, at the height of Art Nouveau, Loetz produced its signature Phänomen iridescent glass. The present lot bears silver-yellow dots and trailing threads, known as "Streifen und Flecken," a decoration developed by Koloman Moser in 1900. Robert Holubetz, one of Moser's students at the Kunstgewerbeschule, Vienna, designed the present form in collaboration with his professor on the occasion of the 8th Wiener Secession exhibition held that same year.
