Aurel Bacs To Auctioneer Unique Patek Philippe Ref. 5270T Donated to Children Action

Established in 1994 by Bernard Sabrier, Children Action is a Swiss foundation dedicated to improving the lives of impoverished children by supporting educational, cultural and medical projects around the world.

To support these actions, Children Action has hosted, since 2005, a biannual charity auction featuring several highly collectible items donated by their makers. Loyal from the very beginning, Patek Philippe has become synonymous with the event. Indeed, every charity auction held to date has featured a Patek Philippe made especially for the occasion.

For its sixth participation, the luxury Swiss watchmaker has created a perpetual calendar chronograph reference 5270 unlike any we've seen in the past. First unveiled in May, during PHILLIPS' spring auction season, the watch presents several features that make it absolulutely unique.

Indeed, this will be the very first Ref. 5270 available in titanium, a metal Patek Philippe uses only in very rare instances. Another striking feature of the watch is its very orginal dial color. Patek Philippe has chosen an emerald green color which changes hues thanks to a very delicate sunburst finish.

Finally, the watch is offered with a transparent sapphire crystal displaying a full view of the watch's movement. Developped in 2011, caliber CH 29-535 PS Q was the first perpetual calendar chronograph movement developed and produced entirely in-house by Patek Philippe. Connecting the watch to its charitable cause are the words "Children Action", featured on the crystal. A second caseback, in full titanium, will also be presented to the buyer of this watch.

Donated by Patek Philippe, the Perpetual Calendar Chronograph Ref. 5270T-010 is lot 3 of the Children Action Charity auction, hosted on November 7 in Geneva. To bid on this watch, please complete the following registration form found on Children Action's website:

PHILLIPS welcomes all enthusiasts to view the watch prior to the auction, at the Hotel La Reserve, between November 2-6.
