HONG KONG – 29 February 2024 – Phillips Perpetual officially opened its doors in Hong Kong this week, with a boutique located on the fifth floor of The Pedder Arcade, a retail concept in the city’s Central district which reimagines the iconic Pedder Building as a modern shopping destination. Phillips Perpetual will offer a boutique experience to clients for both the selling and buying of watches, open all year long. A new selection of fine watches is available for private sale, encompassing important timepieces from established and independent brands including Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, F.P, Journe, and De Bethune. Highlights include an astute collection of Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet's Concept Flying Tourbillon “Rainbow”, A. Lange & Söhne’s Lange 1 Tourbillon in honey gold which is part of an extremely limited edition of 150 pieces, and a Vacheron Constantin Overseas Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin in pink gold.

James Marks, International Head of Perpetual, Phillips Watches, said, “Since its inception in London in 2019, Phillips Perpetual has doubled its revenue year on year, harnessing the market leading expertise of our specialist team that offer collectors the finest curated offering of outstanding watches. Perpetual has always been at the forefront of innovation; we were the first auction house to offer dedicated “bricks and mortar” boutiques for watches and the first department within Phillips to offer our clients e-commerce. We are extremely proud and honoured to be opening our doors in Hong Kong, a new chapter in our journey and we look forward to welcoming clients from across Asia to the Pedder Building.”

Thomas Perazzi, Head of Watches, Asia, Phillips, said, “Phillips Perpetual will enable us to offer unique collector experiences, increasing accessibility to high quality watches in Hong Kong, and deliver first class service all year round. We welcome seasoned watch connoisseurs and newcomers alike to view all currently available watches by stopping in at our boutique at The Pedder Arcade in the Pedder Building.”

Phillips is delighted to present an esteemed Patek Philippe collection at the Phillips Perpetual boutique. Leading the collection is the Grandmaster Chime reference 6300G-010 in white gold with two blue opaline dials, one that focuses on the time of day, the other dedicated to the full instantaneous perpetual calendar. The Grandmaster Chime is the most complicated wristwatch ever made by Patek Philippe. The development, production and assembly process of the watch covered a staggering 100,000 hours.

Also available at the Phillips Perpetual boutique in Hong Kong is a Royal Oak Concept Flying Tourbillon featuring a gorgeous "rainbow" setting (ref. 26227BC.YY.D326CR.01-A). Audemars Piguet's Concept series has been at the very forefront of mechanical watch design since the turn of the millennium. Their history of gem setting is second to none, and their production of the self-winding tourbillon wristwatch is venerated in the industry. Combining this expertise in one dazzling timepiece is no mean feat, but the Concept Flying Tourbillon “Rainbow” again proves the brand’s mastery of the craft. A total of 468 brilliant-cut, multi-colored gemstones of 12 different types are set on almost every visible surface of the 18k white gold 38.5mm × 11.4mm watch, both on the exterior case and the exposed sections of the dial inside the sapphire crystal – a small number of stones have even been set on the flying tourbillon cage.

Phillips Perpetual will also be offering a Lange 1 Tourbillon which is part of an extremely limited edition of 150 pieces launched in 2010 by A. Lange & Söhne, paying tribute to their founder, Ferdinand Adolf Lange. Made to turn heads, this wristwatch is encased in “honey gold”, a patented in-house developed alloy that emits an extremely attractive, golden hue and is reserved for the brands most treasured editions. The same material is employed in other parts of the watch, including the hands and, most notably, the bridges of the movement, visible through the aperture in the dial. Further highlighting the prestige of this limited edition, even the exquisitely decorated dial is fashioned from solid gold. The architecture of the movement itself employs the typical Saxonian three-quarter plate, decorated with the telltale undulating Lange décor, and boasts a mind-blowing total of 51 jewels. By comparison, some grand complication Swiss movements feature a similar number of jewels to that reserved for this tourbillon wristwatch: this highlights the undisputed level of quality and finish A. Lange & Söhne reserved for these exceptional timepieces.

In addition to these pieces, Phillips Perpetual will be offering a selection of iconic sports watches, such as the present Vacheron Constantin Overseas Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin, cased in gleaming Rose Gold. The trifecta of sporty case, precious metal and perpetual calendar is rarely seen. The watch is powered by the ultra-slim calibre 1120 QP, based on the historical calibre 1121 which powered the Vacheron Constantin 222, and boasts an additional perpetual calendar module.
