  • Catalogue Essay

The Bouroullec brother’s “Console with Vase and Bowl” is the spartan expression of three basic forms. The flexible nature of Corian® allows it to be glued invisibly or carved out like a piece of wood; and enabled the Bouroullecs to create a console with a seamless built-in vase and bowl out of what appears to be one solid piece of material. Its monochrome white color allows for a stark silhouette, erasing details and leaving just the simple and expressive figure.
