    “… I didn’t want to paint fresh or solid bodies … The figures in my paintings arise from a disembodied view and from my interest in infrared heat, CCTV , night vision devices, paranoid visions that you have when you’re on drugs or alcohol. I am interested in the nocturnal light, when you are out and about in the dark and see far-away neon lights, petrol pumps, people standing around; that type of dissolution into something that is non-spatial.
