A Phillips in Association with Bacs & Russo film
Directed by Arthur Touchot
Co-produced by theWatchesTV

Watchmaking has a long and rich history, which we at Phillips often get the opportunity to dive into during auction season thanks to the historically important, vintage pieces that fill our catalogues. Occasionally, we even get to contribute new discoveries to the field when one of our specialists finds a fresh-to-market piece that redefines current literature.

But, truth be told, the advances that watchmaking has made during the past 20 years have been just as, if not more, drastic than in the 100 years that precede it. Therefore, on the occasion of RETROSPECTIVE : 2000 - 2020, our upcoming thematic sale dedicated to contemporary watches, we are proud to present A Moment in Time: Watchmaking at the Start of the 21st Century.

Our first short documentary film focuses on our industry's entrance into the cultural mainstream, and features some of the principal actors of our industry, including watchmakers, brand historians, chief executives, retailers, members of the press, who all lend their voice to tell the story of the past 20 years.
