The one-of-a-kind élégante will be auctioned by Aurel Bacs on September 18, 2024, in Geneva.

F.P.Journe is marking the 30th anniversary of Geneva's Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MAMCO) by unveiling a unique version of their élégante 48mm Titalyt® wristwatch. This singular piece will be auctioned by Aurel Bacs, with all proceeds going directly to support the renovation of MAMCO – a significant institution within both the Swiss and global art communities. The auction is set to take place at a private event on September 18.

A unique F.P.Journe élegante that will be sold to benefit MAMCO, a contemporary art museum in Geneva.

The élégante collection was introduced by F.P.Journe in 2014 after nearly a decade of development, featuring the innovative caliber 1210. This electromechanical movement is noteworthy for its energy efficiency, boasting a battery life of 8 to 10 years under normal use, and up to 18 years in standby mode. The watch's motion sensor, located discreetly in an opening at 4:30 on the dial, allows it to enter a sleep mode after 35 minutes of inactivity, with the hands resetting automatically to the correct time when it is worn again. This blend of convenience and technical sophistication is typical of F.P.Journe's approach to watchmaking, which merges traditional craftsmanship with forward-thinking innovation.

This particular model stands out not only for its technical prowess but also for its artistic design. The grey dial is labeled with the letters "A," "R," and "T" in vivid red, blue, and yellow – spelling out the word "ART." These letters are inspired by Maurizio Nannucci’s 1994 piece "Art," part of MAMCO’s collection, which explores the relationships between art, text, and light. The bezel is engraved with "30 MAMCO," celebrating the museum's three decades of contributing to the contemporary art scene.
