Following our extremely successful partnership in 2018, Phillips PERPETUAL was thrilled to welcome Singer Vehicle Design back to our European Headquarters in Berkeley Square to showcase their latest Dynamics and Lightweight Study. This turbo-charged edition, new for 2023, has allowed Singer to produce a limited number of restorations that will be commissioned, in collaboration with owners, to celebrate the victorious 934/5 endurance racers of the 1970s.

At the heart of this “Moet Blanc” example lies a 700 BHP 3.8 litre flat six mated to two turbos, that revs to a staggering 9000 RPM and features side exit exhausts that allowed the residents of Mayfair a unique sound of each bank of the classic Porsche air-cooled powerplant. Alongside the car, Singer showcased a number of accessories available with their $3 million halo car including a choice of wheel design and a loop spoiler that lends a very “Le Mans” style aesthetic to the vehicle. If ever a car was a visual artform, this Singer was it. Displayed on the walls were a number of renderings of vehicle design, unique and rich in colour and highlighting the individuality clients can bestow on their car.

Alongside the DLS-T, Phillips PERPETUAL presented the unique Track 1 prototype on the seventh anniversary of the reference, a true milestone, where the very first watch from the brand met the very latest lightweight study. Featuring a unique case design and free from engravings this titanium prototype Track 1 is accompanied by a Certificate from Singer attesting to the historical importance of the watch.

The movement, developed by Jean-Marc Widerrecht of Agenhor, is incredible in its architecture and construction. Many innovative elements are featured in this movement, first of all having centrally mounted chronograph hands required the movement to be “reimagined”, the power distribution and smoothness of the pushers being re-worked and a smart use of a system merging the vertical and the horizontal clutch offers here the best of both worlds. Finally, and ingeniously, to avoid obstruction of the view on the movement, the automatic winding rotor has been placed under the dial. Much like their vehicles and their corporate moto, “Everything is Important.”

We were delighted to welcome over 1,000 guests during the three days of exhibition and look forward to welcoming Singer back to PERPETUAL in the future.
