Phillips’ Sale of Jewels and Jadeite Realises HK$82.2 Million

Sale Total: HK$82,243,750 / US$10,486,078

Terry Chu, Head of Jewellery, Phillips Asia,
said: “This sale of important Jewels and Jadeite saw collectors from around the world competing for top quality gemstones and signed jewels in an active and vibrant saleroom. The results prove that the market for such jewels continues to be robust. After only two years of Phillips’ presence in the region, the increased sale percentage by lot demonstrates our sustained and steady growth; and expanding presence in the region as we welcomed increased numbers of collectors to our beautifully presented preview. The sale was led by a spectacular jadeite cabochon and diamond necklace, which achieved HK$19,300,000. Signed jewels by top jewellery houses ignited confident bidding, including pieces by Bulgari, Cartier, Graff, Harry Winston, and Van Cleef & Arpels, among others. Vintage jewellery proved its international appeal, with a 100% sell through rate for The Collection of Betty Warner Sheinbaum.”
