GENEVA – 16 September 2022 – Phillips is pleased to announce the results of The Geneva Sessions, Phillips’ first online auction curated by watch specialists in Geneva. The sale achieved CHF 2,664,774 and was led by a Patek Philippe Nautilus chronograph in pink gold ref 5980/1R which sold for CHF 252,000. Over 600 bidders from the international collecting community vied for this tightly curated selection of timepieces which ranged from 1990s to the present day. The depth and strength of bidding evident throughout the sale is testament to the global appetite for watches of exceptional quality, condition, and provenance.

Alexandre Ghotbi, Head of Watches, Continental Europe & Middle East and Tiffany To, Head of Sale said, ““We are absolutely thrilled with the results of our inaugural online Geneva auction which saw the total pre-sale low estimate more than double from CHF 1,119,000 to a sale total of CHF 2,664,774. We would like to extend our gratitude to the consignors and bidders who followed us in this new venture. This online sale of watches selected by our specialists based in Geneva was the first of its kind and it has been wonderful to see how our digital efforts have improved and how they continue to grow. The market remains strong, demonstrating that the right watches, with the correct estimates and sold via the appropriate platform will always garner enthusiastic bidding. We look forward to presenting collectors with more online sales in future and to welcoming visitors to our next live auction in Geneva on the 5 and 6 of November”.
