NEW YORK – 8 OCTOBER 2025 – Phillips is pleased to announce highlights from its upcoming Editions & Works on Paper auctions, featuring more than 400 lots across four sessions. The series of auctions begins with MODERNISM on 21 October at 2PM, the second edition of the dedicated sale. Following its strong debut earlier this year, the MODERNISM session includes nearly 70 works by masters of the late 19th- and early 20th-century, including Pablo Picasso, Man Ray, Yves Klein, and Provincetown printmaker Juliette Nichols. The Evening Sale follows at 5PM. The Day Sale commences the following morning, 22 October, with the first session at 10AM and a second beginning at 2PM. Among the standout offerings across the sales are 40 works by Andy Warhol, spanning the artist’s output from 1956 through the 1980s. Additional highlights include a benefit auction of works donated to support Print Center New York, and a curated selection from the collection of Cirrus Editions and its founder, master printer Jean Milant.

“This season’s offerings demonstrate the remarkable breadth and vitality of printmaking — from the bold experimentation of contemporary artists to the enduring innovation of early Modern masters,” said Kelly Troester and Cary Leibowitz, Worldwide Co-Heads of Editions at Phillips. “The Editions & Works on Paper sales bring together rare Warhols, including unique trial proofs of Moonwalk, alongside standout works by Helen Frankenthaler, Keith Haring, and Rashid Johnson. The benefit auction for Print Center New York on their milestone anniversary and the Cirrus Editions collection further underscore the collaborative spirit and technical ingenuity that define the medium. Additionally, our dedicated MODERNISM sale brings renewed focus to the pioneers of 20th-century printmaking, with exceptional works by Calder, Picasso, Braque, Kandinsky, and others who helped shape the visual language of Modern art.”
