Summer on Park 2025

NEW YORK – 9 JULY 2025 – Phillips is pleased to present Summer on Park, an annual series of exhibitions, auctions, and Dropshop releases that celebrate the summer in the city at Phillips’ New York headquarters on 432 Park Avenue.

The series kicks off with Hoarder VI: The Migration, an online sale of contemporary art and design from the personal collection of artist, writer, and lecturer Kenny Schachter. Online bidding for the auction will be open 8 – 17 July, coinciding with a preview exhibition on view from 9 – 16 July. Members of the public, art enthusiasts, and collectors are encouraged to visit Phillips’ galleries to view the works and perhaps even meet the Hoarder in person. Most lots are offered without reserve.

Phillips New York’s previously announced Modern & Contemporary Art Auction takes place on 16 July at 10AM ET. As always, the public is invited to experience the works firsthand from 9-15 July while the preview exhibition is on view. Top lots of the auction include Robert Motherwell’s commanding painted collage, The Irish Troubles (1981), a powerful example of the artist’s engagement with political conflict through poetic abstraction and Richard Prince’s The Song 2120 South Michigan Ave. (1989), a striking diptych from the artist’s iconic Joke series that exemplifies his exploration of the intersection between pop culture and fine art.

From 25 July – 10 August, PhillipsX will present Summer on Park 2025, a selling exhibition featuring work by a grouping of influential artists, including Tom of Finland, whose bold, stylized depictions of queer identity have become iconic and Edgar Plans, the Spanish artist known for his vibrant, graffiti-inspired characters Visit exhibitions.phillips.com to learn more.

Upcoming Drops:

  • 29 July – 12 August: A diptych of limited-edition prints by Edgar Plans, Art Notes I and Art Notes II, invites collectors into Plans’ unique and poetic universe filled with whimsical details, including his iconic cartoon-inspired characters, handwritten phrases, doodles, symbols, and playful imagery.

  • 19 August – 8 September: Stay tuned for the final Drop of the summer, announced 12 August at 10AM ET.
