Works by twentieth century masters commanded strong prices, with László Moholy-Nagy’s Fotogramm leading the sale at an impressive $375,000, nearly five times its low estimate. Fotogramm is among Moholy-Nagy’s most dynamic photographic works, and its success in today’s auction shows the extent to which his highly experimental vision remains relevant and exciting. We saw strong interest in Transcendence, a selection of landscapes from gallerist and collector Peter Fetterman that included work by Ansel Adams, Sebastião Salgado, and Brett Weston, among others. We were also gratified to set new auction records for Dawoud Bey and Henry Gilpin.”
