Phillips Perpetual X The Armoury

Proceeds from the Sale of The Armoury’s City Hunter 2 Jacket to Support the WHO COVID-Solidarity Response Fund

LONDON – 1 APRIL 2020 – Phillips Perpetual is pleased to announce that it will donate all proceeds from the sale ofThe Armoury's City Hunter 2 jackets tothe WHO COVID-Solidarity Response Fund. Designed and made in Japan specifically for this sale, a limited edition of 25 jackets will be made available to purchase through Phillips’ Perpetual on 3 April 2020. Clients will be given the option to increase their donation to the WHO COVID-Solidarity Response Fund beyond the cost of the jacket.

James Marks, International Specialist and Director, Watches, said, “We are delighted to launch our first exclusive limited edition Phillips Perpetual accessory to benefit the WHO Covid-Solidarity Response Fund that is providing critical response efforts in countries most effected by the pandemic and in particular accelerating efforts to develop vaccines and tests. It was a privilege to work alongside The Armoury team and Mark Cho to produce a jacket with a horological twist that I am sure the broader watch community will enjoy for many years to come. I would like to thank everyone who supports this project for such a deserving cause.”

To create the jacket, The Armoury took inspiration from both old English and Spanish Teba hunting jacket styles, partnering with a Japanese mill that specialises in knitted jersey fabric, adding a degree of natural stretch to the jacket. The jacket is comprised of 100% wool and incorporates an exclusive design with contrast cream stitching on a grey on dark grey hounds tooth. Major seams, such as the shoulder, were joined using a technique called a TPS seam, joining them edge-to-edge without any additional thickness, creating a “seamless” look. Because of the natural give of the jersey knit fabric and the modern garment construction, the City Hunter 2 makes for the perfect comfortable, casual jacket.
