Sarah Krueger, International Specialist, Head of Department, and Chris Mahoney, Senior International Specialist, said “Building upon Phillips’ strong results earlier this spring season, the success of our October live and online photographs auctions proved ongoing demand for photographic works by both master photographers and new luminaries. This season, we connected the global collecting community with important works by Helmut Newton, Irving Penn, Richard Avedon, Robert Mapplethorpe, Cindy Sherman, and Sally Mann, among others. We are also proud to have set new auction records for Mao Ishikawa, Casper Faassen, Elliott Erwitt, and Henry Gilpin, showcasing the demand for artists across the 20th and 21st centuries.”
