Louise Simpson, Phillips’ Head of New Now, London, Associate Specialist, said, “We are delighted with the results of today’s New Now: Modern & Contemporary Art auction, bringing a successful close to the live auction season here in London. Achieving a total of £3 million, these results underscore the resilience and vibrancy of the middle market as we wrap up the fall season. Enthusiastic participation from collectors across more than 50 countries reflected the global appeal of this sale, and true to the spirit of New Now, the top ten lots showcased an exciting mix of established masters and rising stars. Highlights included works by icons like Keith Haring and Damien Hirst, alongside exceptional prices achieved for works by Sabine Moritz and rising talent Joseph Yaeger, whose work far exceeded presale estimates. Five world auction records were achieved during the sale, including those for Harminder Judge and Sabine Moritz, and Paul Pfeiffer’s Prologue to the Story of the Birth of Freedom achieved £76,200, an extraordinary result at more than ten times its presale estimate. We invite collectors to explore our online-only auction, open until 2pm GMT tomorrow, and look forward to building on this success in 2025.”
